My Old Kentucky Hometown Weekend Tour

Time was, way back when, summer seemed to just go on forever. True, the days actually are longer in these dead hot months, but for a little kid they were light years long. Kentucky was a fine place for a boy to spend his summers. From baseball fields to swimming pools to soccer fields to creeks to backyards and back there was little reason to step inside, except maybe for some Coca Cola. Or, in our case, Chek Cola. Hard to think how it could've been much better, except for the Chek, maybe...

But then we had to go and grow up. And wander to far-off places. For my part I landed in DC. But every now and then I get the opportunity to skedaddle back homeward. And this week is just such a time. Three - count 'em, THREE - shows in my beloved Bluegrass state are on the docket this weekend, including a totally righteous outing at this year's Forecastle Festival in Louisville. Get on over to the SHOWS section of this here site right away for more information. Calling all my fellow Kentuckians. Let's get summer-in'!!!
